Devon Walker-Figueroa
Devon Walker-Figueroa has worked as a harpist, professional ballet dancer, bartender, stunt extra, and video game reviewer, among other things. Though originally from rural Oregon, she currently resides in Brooklyn, where she co-edits Horsethief Books and teaches writing courses at Saint Joseph’s College. The current Jill Davis Fiction Fellow at NYU and the recipient of New England Review’s Emerging Writer Award, her poems can be found in NER’s pages, as well as those of The American Poetry Review, The Nation, POETRY, Ploughshares, The Harvard Advocate, and elsewhere. She holds a BA with a concentration in Literature from Bennington College and an MFA in Creative Writing (Poetry) from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her chapbook, “So Lame,” was released by Berfrois earlier this year.
